Dr.-Ing. Wolf-Dieter Longrée and Dipl.-Ing. Joachim Berger founded IMPaC Offshore Engineering GmbH in Hamburg

1983

Schwedeneck (Baltic Sea): Transport and installation design and supervision for the first offshore oilfield in the German Baltic

1985/1991

Subsea storage tank: A project supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy that led to the development of a subsea storage tank for oil products suitable for operation in shallow waters.

1986

Mittelplate (North Sea): Innovative design for heavy duty installation in very shallow water conditions (tidal flats)

1987

Lagos (Nigeria): Comprehensive project management for construction of Escravos Gas Pipeline

1989

Hazira (Indien): First offshore ethylene lighterage / concept (ship-to-ship lighterage with flexible hoses), design and project management

1992

North Germany: IMPaC commences with the development and design for more than 30 gas fields in northern Germany spread over two decades

1994

Europipe (North Sea): IMPaC designs the first float-in method for tunnel pipeline installation / crossing the Wadden Sea natural conservation area

IMPaC becomes a sought-after designer and consultant for onshore and offshore gas field developments, e.g.

Establishment of IMPaC’s subsidiary IMPaC Oil & Gas Engineering Ltd. In Port Harcourt, Nigeria

Caspian Sea: Development of the world’s largest posted barge for drilling operations in ice covered shallow water

IMPaC engages more deeply into applied Research and Development. Examples of successful projects are:

Development of super large cooling water utilities for Mobin industrial complex

IMPaC is prime contractor for Mossel Bay offshore pipeline repair project

2005-2008

Okoloma Gas Plant, part of the Afam Gas to Power Project (Nigeria):
The largest project in IMPaC history so far Project value about 750 Mio EUR E&P and attendance on Construction carried out for Shell Nigeria.

2007

Establishment of a Joint Venture with Dolphin Offshore Enterprises Limited in India

2007-10

Baltic Sea: IMPaC contributes significantly to the Nord Stream Pipeline Project – one of the world’s largest offshore gas pipelines - from the early stages of the project including Authority Engineering and permitting support services up to the commissioning of the two pipelines.

2008

Upgrade of an offshore oil & gas production system and development of new reservoirs in the Black Sea. A fast track project to which IMPaC provided over 150,000 engineering hours.

2009

Foundation of the Employees Shareholding Company IMBG

2010

The design of two met masts for the offshore wind farms Nordsee Ost and Ijmuiden brings a new momentum to IMPaC’s business in the offshore wind sector

2011-2013

Offshore Wind: IMPaC prepares a number of studies, concepts and designs for offshore HVDC converter platforms for projects such as: DolWin gamma, BorWin alpha, BorWin beta, HelWin alpha, HelWin beta and SylWin alpha

2012-2014

Design of the first Accommodation Platform for the offshore wind industry: Vattenfall’s DanTysk wind farm in the German North Sea

2013

Sale of IMPaC's Nigerian subsidiary

2014/15

Oil & Gas:  Comprehensive integrity study, Basic design & detailed FEED for an onshore oil field development in Libya including gas utilization, power supply, oil stabilization, and waste water treatment as well as the development of a new station for Mellitah Oil & Gas B.V.

2014-to date

IMPaC creates a number of highly innovative conceptual designs for different foundation structures with the aim of further driving down LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy)

2015

Transfer of majority shareholding from Dr.-Ing. Wolf-Dieter Longrée to Inka Longrée and Mark Longrée. New Members in IMBG are appointed.

2016

Installation of the Offshore Accomodation Platform 'Dan Tysk' in the North Sea. A Milestone for the (German) Offshore Wind Industry has been reached with this first of its kind Platform.
