Project Characteristics
As an integral part of the onshore oil field development project ‘Roemerberg-Speyer’ IMPaC was contracted to carry out the authority engineering and to support GDF during the permitting process.
IMPaC was responsible for the planning and successful execution of the approval procedure acc. to German mining laws including the Environmental Impact Assessment and plan approval procedure.
Some of IMPaC’s tasks comprise:
- Planning and management of the approval process including scoping procedures
- Consultancy during development of permitting strategies and evaluation of different application concepts also in terms of costs and risks
- Evaluation of technical concepts
- Consultancy and support to public relations
- Preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation support and award recommendations
- Coordination of contracted environmental and hydrogeological specialist companies.
Since the introduction of the Environmental Impact Assessment in the German law to date projects of this size are unprecedented. IMPaC was able to provide comprehensive support and consultancy services to keep the legislative framework for the approval processes during the conceptual stage as stable and predictable as possible.
